    Kratom laws vary by state, so it’s important to know if it’s legal where you live. We’ve provided a list of states, counties, and cities where kratom is banned or restricted.

    Kratom is banned in the following states:

    • Alabama
    • Arkansas
    • Indiana
    • Rhode Island
    • Vermont
    • Wisconsin

    Kratom is banned in the following areas:

    • San Diego, CA
    • Parker, and Monument, CO
    • Sarasota County, FL
    • Jerseyville, Alton, Edwardsville, IL
    • Ascension, Rapides, Grant Parishes, LA
    • Union County, MS 

    Special restrictions

    • Denver, CO – must include label stating “not for human consumption”
    • Ohio – only kratom leaf powder is legal. Must include label stating “not for human consumption.”

    Age restrictions

    Kratom is legal for those over 18 in the following states:

    • Illinois
    • New Hampshire
    • North Carolina
    • South Carolina
    • Texas

    Kratom is legal for those over 21 in the following states:
