Kratom laws vary by state, so it’s important to know if it’s legal where you live. We’ve provided a list of states, counties, and cities where kratom is banned or restricted.

Kratom is banned in the following states:
- Alabama
- Arkansas
- Indiana
- Rhode Island
- Vermont
- Wisconsin
Kratom is banned in the following areas:
- San Diego, CA
- Parker, and Monument, CO
- Sarasota County, FL
- Jerseyville, Alton, Edwardsville, IL
- Ascension, Rapides, Grant Parishes, LA
- Union County, MS
Special restrictions
- Denver, CO - must include label stating "not for human consumption"
- Ohio - only kratom leaf powder is legal. Must include label stating "not for human consumption"
Age restrictions
Kratom is legal for those over 18 in the following states:
- Illinois
- New Hampshire
- North Carolina
- South Carolina
- Texas
Kratom is legal for those over 21 in the following states:
- Oregon
- South Dakota
- Tennessee
